Dear First Grade Families,
We ended 2018 with a fun-filled festive week! In the days leading up to winter break, we ...
When we return to school in the new year, we will begin a new unit of study in reading and in math. We will also be selecting a how-to book to get ready to publish! You can be on the lookout for your child's math test and a copy of the report explaining how s/he performed. Be sure to review the test, and sign and return it to school promptly. You will be able to retain the report for your own records.
Wishing you all a very safe and happy New Year!
Best,
Mrs. Penna
We ended 2018 with a fun-filled festive week! In the days leading up to winter break, we ...
- learned about ways to be a reading rock star by looking for clues to tell us how to read with fluency and expression
- continued writing how-to books to teach others how to do or make something
- wrapped up our first unit in math and took a show-what-you-know.
- met with our buddy class to create snowman glyphs
- had a school-wide winter karaoke sing-along assembly
- celebrated the winter with our class party
