Dear First Grade Families,
Thank you to all who attended Back to School Night on Wednesday. It was a pleasure to meet so many of you. I have posted the link to the presentation I showed at BTSN on the homepage of this blog. I hope that you found the information helpful. If you have any questions or concerns prior to parent-teacher conferences on November 5, please do not hesitate to reach out!
This week was the Week of Respect. We heard a special story about how each one of us is unique. We also went to an assembly about this on Friday. We had a visit from Mrs. Kramer to teach us about allergies, too. In reading, we started working in our word study groups and next week we will begin guided reading! In writing workshop, we learned about transition words and stretching our stories over many pages. In math, we have been learning about addition and we learned two new games -- Double Compare and Five in a Row. We have been busy in social studies, too, learning all about one another and using our activity lists to make choices about how we learn.
A few reminders:
Have a wonderful weekend!
Mrs. Penna
